Colonial's SugaNate 160 Now Approved for Use in Australia

09.28.09

Colonial Chemical's SugaNate 160 is now NICNAS (National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme) listed and approved for importation and use in Australia.

The mission of NICNAS is "the regulation of industrial chemicals for the protection of human health and the environment through scientific excellence and regulatory efficiency to deliver the safe and sustainable use of chemicals." SugaNate 160 is therefore considered by the Australian government as being a safe and sustainable product.

SugaNate 160 is a surfactant based on the renewable resources of corn and coconut. It is extremely mild when tested against other traditional primary personal cleansing surfactants such as sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium coco sulfate, sodium lauryl ether sulfate and alpha olefin sulfonate.

SugaNate 160 is readily biodegradable, soluble in water, easy to handle, a good foamer, a gentle cleanser, "green" and compatible with most other personal care ingredients. These properties make SugaNate 160 an excellent substitute for traditional primary surfactants in personal care formulations.
