ColaTeric ISA-35 is an amphoteric surfactant based on an isostearic alcohol starting material. This unique amphoteric surfactant is supplied as a 35% active aqueous solution in the form of its Zwitterion or inner sale at pH in the range of 5 to 7. Adjustments of the pH to 4 - 4.5 results in a material which behaves as a cationic agent while increasing the pH to 8.5 or above produces an anionic surface active agent.
This product is completely salt free and offers the formulator the advantage of reacting ColaTeric ISA-35 with any acid or base he chooses to prepare the corresponding salt and thus avoid the contamination of the product with undesirable inorganic salts.
