Cola®Teric CHGL Offers an Easy, Prop-65 Suitable Combination for Personal Care Formulations

SOUTH PITTSBURG, TENN. (April 30, 2019): Colonial Chemical is pleased to introduce Cola®Teric CHGL (Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine and Glyceryl Laurate) to its growing offering of hydroxysultaine products. Cola®Teric CHGL is a blend of coconut derivatives ideally suited for sulfate-free systems. It offers improved skin feel, foaming, and viscosity building attributes. ColaTeric CHGL is supplied preservative-free, is globally compliant, and has a high biobased content. It can also enhance preservation in many formulations.

“The ‘clean’ beauty trend is driving simplified formulations with fewer ‘bad guy’ ingredients. Formulated products need to do more with fewer ingredients and multifunctional additives like Cola®Teric CHGL are crucial for delivering against these promises,” says Dennis Abbeduto, Business Manager for Personal Care Products, Colonial Chemical. “Clean beauty is also shrinking the number of available preservatives. Cost and irritation concerns are working together to drive lower surfactant usage – even in notoriously difficult sulfate-free formulations – and we’re confident that the enhanced viscosity performance Cola®Teric CHGL will provide a cost-effective and valuable means to building products that meet customers critical demands.”

Colonial Chemical will introduce the latest addition to the Cola®Teric product family at the NYSCC Suppliers Day Show in May. At the trade show in New York, Colonial will also provide visitors with information about other products in the Cola®Teric family, which all combine the distinct advantages of hydroxysultaine chemistry as a low-residual alternative to betaines –with no California Proposition 65 concerns.
